Arenys de Munt is a small village 45 km North from Barcelona, in "El Maresme". It is situated between "El Montnegre" and the coast. Its firts inhabitants were the Laietans, an Iberian tribe. It was famous because it had 4 roman "vil·les": Can Jalpí, Ca n'Aiguaviva, Can Bellsolell and Can Catà de Dalt. Its ancient name was "Sant Martí d'Arenys". The famous sights in Arenys de Munt are: the romanic Church of Sant Martí, the sanctuary of Sobirans, the castle of Can Jalpí and mas Arquer. Arenys de Munt doesn't has any museums, but it has Can Borrell and its municipal Library with the fauna exhibitions. The main economical activities of Arenys de Munt are the agriculture and the textile factories. The population of Arenys de Munt is around 7000 people, but it is growing very fast. There are some places to visit around Arenys de Munt: Arenys de Mar, the sanctuary of "El Corredor", Sobirans and Can Jalpí.
